What is a Burn Ban?
Wildfires and the accompanying smoky haze have become all too common during the summer in Washington state. Burn bans are enacted by the Department of Natural Resources to help prevent wildfires during the hot, dry summer months.
Implications of a burn ban in the park ban can include open campfires, charcoal briquettes and even grilling with propane.
So before you come to the park for a picnic or barbeque in the summer, check with Washington Department of Natural Resources to see what restrictions are in place to avoid disappointment and cancelled plans.
