In addition to our work to promote and enhance the park, FLSSP is working on an ambitious new trails plan designed to increase accessibility and connectivity to the park for hikers, bikers and wheelchairs. The plan will open inaccessible trails, ensure better connectivity to existing trails leading outside of the park and provide more access to wild spaces and outdoor recreation to handicapped users. A new footbridge spanning Issaquah Creek will allow for an internal loop. The new trails are designed for participants of all ages and skills.
This ambitious plan is part of a multi-million dollar State Parks capital project. FLSSP has committed to raising $100,000 in 2021 so that the project can go forward. Your support makes it possible for all members of our community to enjoy the wild and wonderful places in Lake Sammamish State Park.
