Snoqualmie Tribe Provides Fun & Educational Workbook on Kokanee

The Snoqualmie Tribe has graciously provided a fun, educational and interactive workbook for children to better understand and appreciate kokanee salmon within the Lake Sammamish watershed.  These special landlocked subspecies of sockeye salmon have flourished in Lake Sammamish for centuries but recently their survival is threatened.  Kokanee remain in the lake their entire lives and spawn in local streams.  They were once a vital food source for the Snoqualmie people.  Learn more about this special legacy in our region and the role they play in the ecosystem with this educational workbook.
