Mountains to Sound Greenway Marks 30 Years

Lake Sammamish State Park is proud to be part of Mountains to Sound Greenway, one of the most beautiful scenic highways in the country, encompassing 1.5 million acres. State Parks and the Greenway share a vision of preserved open space available for recreation, wildlife and the environment.

Congratulations to the Greenway as it marks its 30th anniversary. A Greenway Trek was planned to mark the occasion, but has been canceled due to Covid -19. Organizers hope to have one next year, from Eastern Washington to Seattle.

Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust and its many volunteers are a big part of Lake Sammamish State Park, continually working on restoration projects here, particularly in the wetlands and along Issaquah and Tibbetts creeks.

There is no reason not to be out enjoying the trails, parks and heritage sites throughout the Greenway. For more information, visit mtsgreenway.org.
