FLSSP Now Accepting New Board Members

If you love the park and want to make a difference in our community, consider joining one of our committees or serving on the FLSSP Board. Committees include events, fundraising, trails and park beautification. Serving as a board or committee member is great way to give back, meet new people and have fun!

Board responsibilities include oversight of the organization’s finances, strategic planning and event managemernt. The board is also responsible for maximizing volunteer involvement in FLSSP activities. Collectively, the board makes decisions about the program’s direction and monitors progress on a regular basis.

Individual Board Member Responsibilities:

  • To learn about and promote the purpose and activities of FLSSP

  • To attend regular monthly meetings of the board or to notify the president and executive director when an absence is necessary

  • To stay informed about the purpose and activities of FLSSP in order to effectively participate in board decisions and fulfill responsibilities.

  • Financial Support

  • To actively participate in at least one committee

  • To actively participate in specific activities or projects promoted by the board including:

    Fundraising

    Representation on behalf of FLSSP at meetings and events

    Recruit new board members as the opportunity arises
