LSSP Welcomes Interpretive Specialist Amber Brooks

We are thrilled to announce that Amber Brooks has recently come to LSSP as Interpretive Specialist 3. Although located at Lake Sammamish, Amber serves the entire northwest region of Washington.

Amber comes to Washington from Blue Mounds State Park in Minnesota where she served as an Interpretive Naturalist, working to interpret the parks bison population and the ecosystem of the prairie. She has been working in the field of education and naturalist interpretation for more than 10 years.

Amber received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Minnesota in Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology and is currently enrolled in graduate school and will soon receive a Master of Arts in Education: Natural Science and Environmental Education.

We cannot wait to see all that she brings to the park and to region as her passion is outdoor recreation, and environmental education. She is looking forward to helping create a more inclusive, safe, and welcoming environment for all visitors.

In her free time, Amber likes to hike and spend time outdoors with her dog named Fred and wait patiently in fields for the perfect photo of a sunset.
