FLSSP Invites Corporate Groups for Habitat Restoration

Are you part of a company or organization that wants to give back to the community? FLSSP is again welcoming corporate groups to participate in habitat restoration projects at the park as a perfect team-building activity.  FLSSP provides trained leaders to help develop custom restoration projects for large groups year-round.

FLSSP has offered restoration projects for both individual volunteers and groups since 2014.

“During the pandemic, more companies turned to outdoor volunteer activities for their employees. We have had a huge demand for habitat restoration work parties,” said Karen Donovan, FLSSP president. “Invitation Homes and Insight Global from Bellevue are the latest companies to volunteer. They brought employees to tackle invasive non-native plants which improve the park habitat for both animals, birds and fish populations.

Tools, training water and snacks are provided. Volunteers should dress for the weather and wear boots and work gloves. Due to increased demand, we ask that companies match volunteer hours or make a donation to the FLSSP Habitat Restoration Program.
