Help Support Lake Sammamish State Park this Giving Tuesday!

As we celebrate the season of gratitude and goodwill, it's an honor to reach out to you on this special occasion – Giving Tuesday, a day dedicated to the extraordinary power of generosity. On November 28th, people around the globe will unite to give back to their communities, and we’re inviting you to join us so together, we can collaborate in this impactful movement.

At Friends of Lake Sammamish State Park (FLSSP), we believe in the transformative power of giving. This Giving Tuesday, we extend an invitation for you to contribute to our mission of supporting, promoting, and enhancing Lake Sammamish State Park. Your generosity will make a meaningful difference in the lives of the 2 million people who enjoy the park each year.

Through donor funding, we are making park improvements such as safer and more adequate trail connections and accessibility so people of all ages and abilities can enjoy the Park. Additionally, we put donor contributions to work as we lead a range of educational and community events and partner with volunteers to complete beautification and habitat restoration projects. The Park provides access to dozens of outdoor recreation activities, as well as serving as a vital urban refuge for wildlife and fish.

We appreciate the support we receive from our community of donors and volunteers. In the past year, FLSSP has:

  • Hosted over 1000+ people at our community and education events at the park;

  • Funded the replacement of eight large shade trees lost to construction and age; restored vital riparian habitats; organized sustainable beautification projects throughout the park; and funded improved trail access designs;

  • Organized 15 volunteer events to enhance Sunset Beach Gardens and Tibbetts Creek, where we have removed invasive weeds, planted over 200+ native plants, and added mulch to help protect these efforts; and

  • Collaborated with other like-minded organizations to host weekly summer litter pickups, removing over 1000 gallons of trash from the Park.

Everyone here at FLSSP is wishing you a season filled with joy, gratitude, and the fulfillment that comes from giving!
