Park Improvements at Lake Sammamish State Park
In just a few short weeks, the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission will begin construction work to revitalize the Sunset Beach area at Lake Sammamish State Park. The Park will be replacing old structures, improving ADA access to picnic area, upgrading event infrastructure, and paving the way for a future playground renovation. Construction will begin this Spring and is anticipated to continue through October. While we are excited about the improvements being made at the park, there will be some impacts to the general public.
During construction, there will be impacts to visitor access to several areas of the park and parking. Portions of the Sunset Beach parking area will be utilized for construction equipment impacting traffic and parking during the summer months. Additionally, the playground may periodically be closed for safety reasons, and some areas of Sunset Beach may be impacted by construction fencing.
