FLSSP Seeking Event Committee Chair

FLSSP has a growing Board and expanding drive to build on our past success. To do our important work takes people dedicated to helping us lead. Our current Event Committee Chair will be stepping down since moving out of state and FLSSP is seeking a new volunteer to serve as our Event Committee Chair. The FLSSP Event Committee Chair can become a member of the Board or can lead a committee as a volunteer.

Our FLSSP Event Committee Chair will lead an event committee that will help continue the FLSSP tradition of hosting special events to support Lake Sammamish State Park. Our current FLSSP events are Polar Plunge, Walk ‘n Wag, FLSSP Annual Auction, and Camp S’more. A new Event Committee Chair’s primary role is to guide the committee in the planning and execution of FLSSP special events, growing and refining FLSSP’s event focus through the consideration of new events that can replace or be in addition to current events, and lead our monthly event committee meetings. They will be supported by the FLSSP Event Committee made up of volunteers and Board Members as well supported by FLSSP staff.

FLSSP events are integral to our mission and help fund improvements and restoration activities throughout Lake Sammamish State Park. FLSSP is a small, but mighty team and what we might lack in capacity we make up for in drive and passion to make a big difference for our community.  We know that anyone interested in taking on the Event Committee Chair will make a lasting contribution to the wider community while serving the mission of FLSSP and the park.

If you are interested in learning more about serving on the FLSSP Board or serving as our Event Committee Chair please email FLSSP Executive Director, Jessica Schafer, at director@flssp.org. We are seeking a replacement by July 21, 2023 and we hope you consider volunteering with us. We are looking forward to hearing from you and welcoming you to our team!
