Thank You FLSSP Volunteers
April is Volunteer Appreciation Month!
FLSSP is proud to celebrate our incredible volunteers!
Friends of Lake Sammamish Park is eternally indebted to our dedicated and passionate volunteers! From weeding, mulching, planting and grubbing blackberry, to picking up litter, and helping set-up, run and clean-up community events, volunteers are what make FLSSP successful in our mission to support, promote and enhance our local state park. Over the last 11 years, FLSSP has depended on generous individuals who give their time to help us further this mission.
Thank you to all of our volunteers—our park wouldn’t be what it is without you!
Last year, 340 volunteers gave over 670 hours of service to park projects, clean-ups and events. Based on the national average of the worth of a volunteer hour ($37.63), this equals $25,212.10 of labor! We are off to a strong start in 2024 as well, with 65 volunteers giving 125 hours of time so far, a contribution of $4,703.75! These totals also do not include the many hours our dedicated volunteer board members devote to park improvement projects, programming and communications.
Want to be part of the fun and give back to your community? Join us as a volunteer by signing up online here! Willing to take an extra step? We are seeking board members who want to help lead our work at the park. Contact Jessica Schafer, Executive Director at director@flssp.org, for more information.
