ArtDoors For All at Lake Sammamish State Park

Article drafted by Friends of Lake Sammamish State Park Board Member Tiffanny Brooks

Over the past weekend, Lake Sammamish State Park transformed into a vibrant canvas of creativity as FLSSP’s inaugural ArtDoors event kicked off. The Sunset Bathhouse buzzed with excitement as visitors of all ages gathered around picnic tables to craft whimsical and colorful windsocks.

A delightful breeze swept through the doors, setting off a kaleidoscopic display of fluttering streamers fluttering. The Bathhouse buzzed with laughter and chatter as participants, young and old, unleashed their imaginations.

By the end of the day, we had counted at least 50 unique windsocks, each depicting playful designs of birds, fish, and googly-eyed creations, showcasing the diverse creativity of our community.

FLSSP’s ArtDoors events are designed to be inclusive, welcoming participants of any age. These summer art events not only celebrate the beauty of Lake Sammamish State Park but also highlight the incredible resources available in our area.

Whether you're the next Picasso, or your expertise ends at fingerpainting, drop in anytime during the event – all abilities welcome!

Mark your calendars for the next exciting ArtDoors event on August 18th, where you will create your own Nature Journal.

Come on out, connect with nature, and have some artistic fun! For more details, be sure to visit our website. https://www.lakesammamishfriends.org/events
