Tai Chi and Qigong Workshop

In this workshop you will get an introduction to the movements and principles of Tai Chi and Qigong. Tai Chi, often referred to as meditation in movement, allows us to express our energy and benefits our health and spiritual growth. You will be instructed through several Qigong exercises and a beginners Tai Chi form. The Qigong practice will include a powerful set of warm up exercises designed to release tension from the body and revitalize our energy, and a series of exercises called the 8 piece Brocade of Life, which work with the central energy meridian line. The 16 Step beginners Tai Chi form contains postures from the traditional Yang Style short form and long form right side. In order for you to get a feel for the movements, you will learn some of the basic principles and details of the postures. This workshop will be an opportunity for you to experience the immediate benefits of Tai Chi, to feel more relaxed and energized, while also gaining an insight into this wonderful ancient art.

There will be a short break during the middle, so bring water and snacks if you’d like. It’s recommended to wear loose comfortable clothing and comfortable shoes (if possible, wear light, flat soled trainers).

About the Instructor

Liz Kuntz is originally from Indiana and has been living in Nicosia, Cyprus for twenty years. She’s been on the Tai Chi journey for the last three and a half years with her teacher and spiritual guide, Master Vasilious. Liz is a teacher at his school and also regularly assists the Master in several weekly classes. She practices the original Yang Style short form, long forms and sword form.
