Join FLSSP and Mountain to Sound Greenway to Document our Wild Outdoors

Join FLSSP and Mountain to Sound Greenway April 29th from 10 am to noon to help document the wild outdoors of Lake Sammamish State Park using the iNaturalist app. We will be meeting at the Sunset Beach concession area at Lake Sammamish State Park. Our two hike leaders, Peter and Lauren, will show you how to use the iNaturalist app and take us on a short hike to identify and document wild fauna and flora right in our backyard. During this weekend your entries will be helping to put Lake Sammamish State Park on the map for the City Nature Challenge.

Started as fun competition in 2016 between Los Angeles and San Francisco the City Nature

Challenge has become a global bioblitz. This fun hike at Lake Sammamish State Park will allow you to Join others around the Seattle-Tacoma metropolitan region from April 28 – Monday, May 1, 2023 to document wild plants and animals in your own community using the iNaturalist app.

For this event we recommend that prior to the event you download the free iNaturalist app to your Android (using the Google Play Store) or iPhone (using the APP Store). Join the 2023 City Nature Challenge: Seattle- Tacoma Metropolitan Area iNaturalist project. During this hike we will be working with you to identify and document wild flora.

No registration is needed for this event. A State Parks Discover Pass is required for parking, one can be purchased on site.

Come outside and join us to document our wild outdoors!
