Get Ready for Camp S'more

Coming out to Camp S’more this August 5?

We are excited to meet you!

Wondering how you should prepare?

Camp S’more is a few weeks away and we are looking forward to hosting registered families at the Hans Jensen Group Camp. There are still a few tickets left so if you are looking for a fun family event on the evening of August 5th come join us at Camp S’more by registering here!

For those wondering what they might need to bring for a night under the stars we have created a brief packing list below to help guide you in your preparations.

  • Tent (Tent Buying Guide from REI here)

    • Don’t forget the poles, a footprint (this could be a tarp), and stakes

    • You might want to bring a hammer or something heavy to pound in the stakes

  • Sleeping bags

    • Don’t forget the pillows!

    • Padding for under the bedding, either sleeping pads, air mattresses (be careful with the size of your tent) or extra blankets as padding

  • Light source

    • We recommend head lamps and a camp lantern, but flash lights will work too

    • Check the batteries before you come!

  • Folding chairs or a picnic blanket - perfect for s’more-making and star gazing

    • A star chart for star gazing (this can be found as an app)

  • Camp games

    • We will have lots of activities to fill your time, but you might want to have a fun family game in down time so we suggest packing a deck of cards, dice or any other game that you don’t mind getting wet or dirty. Lawn games are another option.

  • Inclement weather gear

    • Tent rain fly (usually comes with your tent) and a tarp

  • Water bottles

  • Trash/ Recycling Bags for clean-up

  • Clothes

    • Consider a hat and weather appropriate clothing

    • Light jacket/sweater for the evening

  • Toiletries

    • Include sunscreen and bug repellent

You might consider bringing a wagon to transport your gear to the campsite. There is a short walk from the parking lot to the campsites.

We will have dinner options for you to purchase on site (continental breakfast will be provided Sunday morning), but you are welcome to bring your own dinner food. If you are bringing your own dinner please remember that there are no provided cooking stations on site so please think about bringing:

  • Camp stove with fuel (no open flames) if you need to heat food

  • Cooler (there is no refrigeration on site)

  • All cooking and eating utensils and plates

  • Folding table- there will be shared picnic tables, but if you need more space, you might want your table- but keep in mind you still have to carry it to your site, so the lighter, the better!!

  • Table cloth

We are so excited for you to join us on August 5th for Camp S’more. Don’t worry we will bring the s’more fixings - see you there!
