Lake Sammamish State Park Grows by 5 Acres

Thanks to Lakeside Industries, State Parks in collaboration with the City of Issaquah and Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust will be able to expand habitat restoration efforts along Issaquah Creek.

Lakeside Industries recently donated a 5.3-acre property adjacent to Lake Sammamish State Park to Washington State Parks. The property is located on SE 56th Street, between Alpine Animal Hospital and the Microsoft complex, and it includes more than 1,100 linear feet of the right bank of Issaquah Creek.

The left bank of the creek in this area is owned by the City of Issaquah. In addition to creek restoration, a portion of one of the park's trails runs through the property, so it is vital to State Parks efforts to create loop trail opportunities in the park.

Lakeside Industries has been a good friend to the park. The Issaquah-based company generously donated all the rock and gravel needed for the base of the playground, and this year was a sponsor of Parkadilly kids' fair.
