Volunteers Needed for Playground Landscaping
Have you been to the park recently? If you have, you’ve probably noticed the improvements in the landscaping around the playground.
FLSSP, in cooperation with State Parks and through a grant from the Washington State Parks Foundation, has spearheaded efforts to landscape and improve the beds around the playground. Over the past several months, park staff has removed blackberry, volunteer trees and other invasive species from the beds around the play area.
And, thanks to volunteers who came out this past weekend, the area now looks great! The group weeded, mulched, planted and removed old topsoil.
FLSSP will be looking to host several more groups in the next few months to finish the work.
The next opportunity will be on Sunday, November 8 from 11am to 1pm.
