Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving traditionally celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving. Giving Tuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.

Friends of Lake Sammamish State Park will make great use of your gift!

In collaboration with trail groups, Washington State Parks, the City of Issaquah and City of Sammamish, we are working on an ambitious trails plan designed to increase accessibility and connectivity for bird watchers, hikers, bicyclists and wheelchairs while improving infrastructure that will protect and enhance the park’s habitat. Recommendations in the plan include decommissioning several existing trails while building new ones in less environmentally sensitive environments.

Benefits of the New Trails Plan

• Improve ecological health of the park with designated walking paths

• Create accessible trails to accommodate all abilities

• Ensure better connectivity to existing trails outside of the park

• Create a larger loop trail that connects picnic areas
