FLSSP Seeking New Board Members
Want to make new connections, learn new skills, get inspired and do something worthwhile for your community? Apply to join the Friends of Lake Sammamish State Park board today! We are adding several new board members and looking for people who love the park and can assist with the planning of special events, have an interest in habitat restoration/park beautification or are interested in reaching out to diverse communities.
As part of our mission to engage with diverse communities and to promote the park and outdoor recreation broadly, we are adding a board position designed to actively engage with BIPOC, underserved communities and other nonprofits with the goal of better serving the entire community. This new member will help FLSSP build bridges with underserved and diverse user groups, welcome a wide variety of people into FLSSP and into the park and advise the organization on meaningful ways of partnering with diverse communities.
FLSSP is small but mighty. In 2016 the group raised more than 1 million dollars for the all-access playground and helped with the fundraising for the Bathhouse at Sunset Beach. Current projects include an ambitious new plan to improve the trails at the park and a pilot recycling program for park events. Join us as we tackle our next project!
We guarantee you will make a contribution, have a good time, learn new skills and meet people who share your values.
