Recycle Right Poster Contest 2023

Official Contest Information

Lake Sammamish State Park added blue recycling carts for recycling this year. Each year more than two million visitors come to Lake Sammamish State Park. We need your help to make sure visitors know what can be recycled and why recycling is important. If chosen as a winner, your artwork will be shown at Lake Sammamish State Park!

The Contest

Create a poster showing what is recyclable or why recycling is important. Get creative and have fun! Posters should be sized 11 x 17 or 8.5 x 11. Participants can create them electronically or make a physical poster and take a photo of it to submit. Extra consideration will be made for posters made from recycled materials.

Your poster could include:

  • What you can do at the park to reduce waste.

  • What is recyclable and what belongs in the garbage. At Lake Sammamish State Park, aluminum cans, clean paper, plastic cups, plastic bottles, and glass bottles are recyclable. Items must be empty to recycle. This sign is on the blue carts that are onsite.

  • Show how recycling improves Lake Sammamish State Park.

Who Can Enter?

All students K-12 that live in King County.
