Friends of Lake Sammamish State Park Welcomes Three New Board Members
Friends of Lake Sammamish State Park (FLSSP) is excited to welcome three new Board members to our Board of Directors. FLSSP was formed in 2013 to help support, enhance, and promote Lake Sammamish State Park and has been a significant part of park improvements since its founding.
The FLSSP Board is a dedicated working board and Board members give of their time and expertise in a variety of ways. They volunteer at community events, work on restoration activities in the park and they help develop new ideas and plans to make the park more accessible and enjoyable for all visitors.
FLSSP’s three new Board members, Prajesh Kumar Sugurman, Marilyn Wilshin, and Robert Ulman are a great addition to the current Board of Directors and we are excited to welcome them onboard.
Prajesh Kumar Sugurman is a resident of Issaquah and a user of the park both of the recreation areas and as a soccer member with the ISC Gunners. Prajesh brings immense talent to our Friends group with his skills in data analytics and cost optimization. He also brings a wealth of nonprofit experience with his work with a tree and organic farm in India. His work with farmers building secondary income and his focus on environmental issues will be a big help as the Friends begin to focus more on promoting conservation and restoration activities in the park.
Marilyn Wilshin might be a familiar face at Lake Sammamish State Park as a frequent user of the park. She hopes to bring her solutions oriented approach that she built throughout her career as a corporate real estate manager to her work on the FLSSP Board. FLSSP is currently in a building year with a new ED and several new Board members so her expertise is essential as we work to find new ways to implement our mission and partnership with Lake Sammamish State Park.
Robert Ulman has a been a local resident for more than a decade and now resides in Issaquah. Robert became involved with the Friends group recently as a way to give back to his community in a more in-depth way. He chose to work with the Friends group as he is an avid user of Lake Sammamish State Park and sees the relevance of having this special open space to enhance our community’s mental and physical well-being. Robert brings a wealth of experience in marketing and sales management and is interested in helping the Friends group provide a greater awareness of the Park’s contributions to our larger community.
FLSSP is thrilled to welcome Prajesh, Marilyn, and Robert to the board and excited about the talents and diverse range of thought that these three individuals will bring with them as we work to fulfill our mission to enhance, promote and support Lake Sammamish State Park.
