Give Big For FLSSP

Get that GIVING feeling!  When you give, good things happen in your community.  That’s what GiveBIG is all about, so help FLSSP by Giving BIG in 2023

Friends of Lake Sammamish State Park is celebrating 10 years supporting, promoting and enhancing the beautiful Lake Sammamish State Park. Help us raise $8000 to support our ongoing efforts to restore fish and wildlife habitat, build accessible trails, and provide fun and educational events for our community.

Do you want to know what your support of FLSSP can do for your community? FLSSP has successfully raised funds for the all-access playground, developed a draft Comprehensive Trails Plan to improve the accessibility of all trails in Lake Sammamish State Park, and FLSSP hosts popular annual community events such as Polar Plunge, Walk ‘n Wag (coming up on May 7th!), and Camp S’more Family Campout.

Additionally, in 2022, we:

· Engaged over 250 volunteers that gave over 600 volunteer hours in 15 restoration events for Lake Sammamish State Park.

· Launched a pilot individual volunteer program in partnership with Washington State Parks and started a pilot recycling program in conjunction with Recology and City of Issaquah.

· Surpassed our initial fundraising goal of $200,000 for the Comprehensive Trails Plan to match $2.8 million in state grants. With that money in hand, we completed two Comprehensive Trails Plan projects in partnership with Washington State Parks:

o Trail #6: Marking a crosswalk across the entry road to more safely connect existing park trails, and

o Trail #13: Improving surfacing of several existing footbridges previously dangerous to cyclists.

We still have more to do! Please help us continue our work by giving big to FLSSP Sustaining Funds. For example, a simple $100 gift will allow FLSSP to sponsor a speaker for a nature walk in the park or contribute to mulch for our rain garden restoration project.

Help us reach our goal of $8,000 today!

Thanks to generous donations from our Board of Directors, every dollar up to $2000 will be matched.

Make your gift to supporting Lake Sammamish State Park go even further during GiveBIG.

GiveBIG officially is on May 2nd and 3rd, but you don’t have to wait to take part in the fun—early giving has already started!
