Thank You for Joining FLSSP at Camp S’more 2024

Thank you for a wonderful Camp S’more 2024 weekend! This past weekend, August 10th and 11th, FLSSP hosted one of our signature events, Camp S’more, at Hans Jensen Group Camp at Lake Sammamish State Park. 125 campers joined us for Camp S’more 2024 to experience fun outdoor activities and a good marshmallow roasting over fire pits. Bellies full from delicious food from Rice, Beans and Happiness and Tasty Z’s, our campers earned Junior Ranger badges from the WA State Park interpretive staff and learned about local wildlife and fish from staff and volunteers who joined us from Trout Unlimited, The City of Sammamish, and Western Wildlife Outreach.

Once dusk fell, we gathered around the campfire to roast marshmallows generously provided and served by Town & Country Markets Lakemont, learn about our nocturnal neighbors from Bats Northwest, and to sing a few campfire songs with our camp host. After a great night, campers were greeted in the morning with a continental breakfast spread and coffee provided by Caffe Ladro.

FLSSP would like to thank the 25 volunteers on hand to teach campers ‘the ropes’- from how to setup a tent to how to catch a fish! FLSSP would also like to thank this year’s generous sponsors that made Camp S’more 2024 possible – Wolf Camp, Town & Country Markets, and Kiwanis Club of Issaquah.

FLSSP is excited to be able to provide our community with fun family friendly events throughout the year. To support our work to enhance, protect and promote Lake Sammamish State Park and to allow us to continue to provide community events at the park please consider donating here to FLSSP. All donations go to support community events and the park we all love and enjoy!
