Craft Your Own Nature Journal: ArtDoors at the Park Sunday, Aug. 18 Noon- 2pm:

ArtDoors, a summer program hosted by FLSSP, returns to the Sunset Beach Bathhouse from 12pm to 2pm this Sunday, August 18. This Sunday, FLSSP will be joined by local artist Brandy Jahn (Paint local here: https://paint-local-llc.square.site/) to lead you in the creation of nature journals from scratch.

Nature journaling is a great way of encouraging your child’s adventurous spirit. Starting a nature journal is an easy way to get kids outdoors to explore and document the world around them. For our ArtDoors nature journal activity Brandy will lead you and your family in the creation of your very own journals that kids (or adults!) can draw, track and document observations about their environment. The possibilities are endless for the types of pages you can create in the journal, but we will have examples to help inspire you like: note things you see, smell, touch and hear on your walk, sketch the trees in your area — can you identify them? Are they deciduous (they lose their leaves) or evergreen? We are excited to have you join us and to help you get started on this fun journal adventure.

If crafting a journal is not your interest we encourage you to come to the event anyways and use the materials to craft a creation of your own. There will be plenty of materials for kid-friendly projects or bring your own creative project and soak up the atmosphere and community while you work. ArtDoors is designed as a creative space in the park to dream up and craft your very own creations. We would love to have you join us at the Sunset Beach Bathhouse this August 18th to dream, create and inspire with the community around you!
