Thank You for Joining FLSSP to Welcome in 2025 at Polar Plunge

Polar Plunge 2025 - Happy New Year!

Polar Plunge 2025 was our 6th annual and biggest plunge yet with over 550 people joining us for the day! Thank you to all those that joined FLSSP and welcomed in 2025 at Lake Sammamish State Park with chowder, donuts, coffee, and of course a cold dip in the lake! We sure did make a splash! Check out some of the fun photos below and consider sharing yours with us by sending them to operations@flssp.org.

Thank you to our incredible and loyal Polar Plunge sponsors and partners who made this event spectacular. Banner Bank sponsorship of our costume contest and event helped us continue our annual dip in the lake. Ivar’s joined us again in 2025 not only sharing their famous clam chowder with our community, but also bringing along the Ivar’s dancing clam! Starbucks Issaquah Meadows provided our coffee and Top Pot Donuts filled our bellies with incredible treats! Pins by Design helped us create fun commemorative 2025 pins and Mick with Clown Garage kept us laughing and dancing all day! A big thank you to our Eastside Fire and Rescue for being on hand to ensure the safety of our community members. Thank you also to our volunteers, FLSSP Board Members and Washington State Park staff who helped us make this event the best Polar Plunge yet!

Our Banner Bank Costume Contest featured 3 categories this year: Most Original, Most DIY, and Most Festive. About 20 participants joined the fun. The audience got involved this year and helped vote for the winners, with the help of rubber duckies! Congratulations to the Lake Warrior, winner of Most Original; Mini Owlet for Most DIY, and the Family of Ice Cubes (including a plunger and popsicle sticks!) for Most Festive! Winners received FLSSP prize packs.

FLSSP is thrilled to continue this fun and festive Issaquah New Year’s Day tradition in our community. We would love to add new members to our FLSSP Events Committee team led by our wonderful Board Member Grace Whitten. We are already in the planning stages for our 2025 events so please consider joining our Events Committee to help us continue our tradition of bringing fun, family friendly events to our community. If you are interested in joining us for this work, please reach out to our Executive Director, Jessica Schafer, at director@flssp.org for more information.

Happy 2025, friends! We hope to see you at the park soon!
