FLSSP Annual Celebration

The Friends of Lake Sammamish State Park's Annual Celebration was the perfect opportunity to enjoy food and friends, dedicate the native plant trail, celebrate several of our outstanding volunteers and to honor Richard Benson on his retirement after 38 years of service to the State Parks of Washington. The Snoqualmie drummers helped us dedicate the native plant trail while Rangers Joy Kacoroski and Peter Walters led a walk of trail to enthusiastic participants. We were thrilled to honor Dora Rajkhowa and Pat Huttenan for their selfless service on behalf of LSSP.

Finally, we discussed all of the amazing things that the Friends Group has accomplished over the past year and presented several exciting initiatives slated for the coming year. In 2018 we will advocate to bring Lifeguards to Sunset Beach, make Lake Sammamish State Park the trailhead for Lake Sammamish Trail and improve the park's soccer fields.

The Friends Group works to bring funding to improve the park, promotes the park locally and regionally and hosts events at the park, giving you more reasons than ever to visit!
