Join us at the Rogue Alehouse in Issaquah on November 20 for Salmon, Science & Suds. We will screen the Patagonia Film "Artifishal" and then host a panel discussion.
According to Patagonia, "Artifishal is a film about wild rivers and wild fish. It explores the high cost – ecological, financial and cultural – of our mistaken belief that engineered solutions can make up for habitat destruction. The film traces the impact of fish hatcheries and farms, and the extraordinary amount of American taxpayer dollars wasted on an industry that hinders wild fish recovery, pollutes our rivers, and contributes to the problem it claims to solve. Artifishal also dives beneath the surface of the open-water fish farm controversy, as citizens work to stop the damage done to public waters and our remaining wild salmon."
Panelists will include Larry Franks, Master Docent at the Friends of Issaquah Salmon Hatchery, Dr. Jason Neuswanger, biologist and creator of Troutnut.com, and Jeanette Dorner, Director of Mid Sound Fisheries.
The event starts at 6:30pm with 30 minutes for networking; The film will be shown at 7:00pm.
Salmon, Science & Suds speakers address water quality, healthy fish populations, and habitat restoration. The series is offered to share interesting research and initiatives currently improving the health of the Sammamish watershed to the entire community.
The evening will also include a raffle, great food and beer and good company.
