Register for the Second Annual Lake Sammamish Perch Derby and do something fun and great for the lake! The derby coincides roughly with the migration of Lake Sammamish Kokanee from the streams into the lake.  These little fish have to survive the gauntlet of predators like perch to survive and become future spawners.

Trout Unlimited’s Lake Sammamish Perch Derby is a fishing tournament for everyone! There are divisions for both children and adults and prizes will be awarded for the longest perch, heaviest perch, the heaviest 25 perch. A bonus prize for the largest pikeminnow will also be awarded.

The action starts at 8 AM with the final weigh in at 1 PM. Derby headquarters will be at the Lake Sammamish Boat Launch in Lake Sammamish State Park. Please note that a Discover Pass or a daily parking/launch fee will be required to enter the park.

All proceeds from the derby will support the Lake Sammamish kokanee recovery work being done by the Bellevue-Issaquah Chapter of Trout Unlimited in partnership with the Urban Wildlife Refuge Partnership (UWRP) and the Kokanee Work Group (KWG).
