Tree Planting at Sammamish Cove with Mountains to Sound Greenway

On Saturday, October 14th, Mountains To Sound Greenway, City of Issaquah, Lake Sammamish State Park and Carter Subaru sponsored the Annual Tree Planting Celebration at Sammamish Cove. The day was clear and crisp--perfect for getting outside and digging holes and planting trees! Volunteer turnout was great and it was wonderful to see so many groups and families come out to help increase native plant diversity, canopy cover, and tree regeneration, all of which will benefit native salmon populations. Sammamish Cove borders Tibbett's Creek, an important salmon-bearing stream that provides vital habitat for species in the Lake Sammamish ecosystem. There are many more opportunities for individuals and groups to come out to Lake Sammamish State Park to help with restoration of native habitats. For more information, email director@flssp.org.
